52 Weeks of Memories - Weeks 20&21 - Eat & Love

So my internet was out late last week and over the weekend. Hence why two weeks worth of the 52 Weeks of memories are being posted together.

Eat:

One of my favourite chocolate flavours: Marlborough Sea Salt and Caramel Brittle. Yum!

Love:

The newest member of our stuffed animal family - Ollie (the hat is actually mine which AJ put on his head).

I've had no internet...

I haven't posted for the past little while due to having no internet. A lightning strike last week put things out of commission so I haven't been able to post (and I didn't schedule); sorry!

But things came back online recently so things should go back to normal from now on. I'll post both 52 Weeks of Memories posts on this coming Thursday instead.

Learning to Walk and Talk Again

A few years ago my cousin Joanne had a brain haemorrhage and very nearly left this world My reaction post

She is an inspiration to everyone she meets nowadays. She had to learn to walk again. She is still learning to talk again. She featured in a documentary about a year ago here.

This song really makes me think of her whenever I hear it: Walk by the Foo Fighters

Keep going Joanne, you're an amazing woman. You're improving your speech immensely every time I see you :)

Travel Tuesday - Ireland - Gap of Dunloe

I know this is late NZ time - but if we go by American time it's on time!!!

After the Ring of Beara and driving to our B&B of the night we drove across the Gap of Dunloe.

The Gap of Dunloe is this little one way road across the base of the Ring of Kerry. It has the most amazing views and it's really remote and awesome and stuff (descriptive I know). Just look at the pics...

52 Weeks of Memories - Week 19 - Mum

My Mum and I have had our ups and downs over the years. But one thing's for sure - she's always there for me when I need to talk. She lives over 5 hours drive away so I don't see her often. This Mother's Day she was having a much needed holiday over in Ireland with Dad.

So no picture of her. Just her first name.

Today I Am...

I have the most awesome diary this year thanks to my sisters :) They gave me it for Christmas and it has all these prompts in it for throughout the year.

Here's how I was feeling at the end of January...

Loving: My Family

Eating: Nectarines

Drinking: Water

Wearing: My Linkin Park tshirt

Feeling: Hot

Wanting: To go shopping

Thinking: That I really shouldn't go shopping.

Dreaming: Of one day having kids.

I've decided that every now and then I'll post another one of these. They may be up to day or they may be from the past.

No Travel Tuesday This Week

Just popping in to say that there's no Travel Tuesday this week. But it should be back next week :)
Got busy doing other stuff and lost track of time. I really need to write these in advance. I'm going to try to do that from now on.

52 Weeks of Memories - Week 18 - Everyday

I struggled this week. Hence why the post is up late. Then I thought about the shower and how I use it (mostly) everyday.

Travel Tuesday - Ireland - Ring of Beara

I absolutely love finding out about my ancestry. I love listening to stories that my grandparents tell me about their childhoods in Ireland. So when I found out that my Grandad's family (the O'Sullivans) came from the Beara Peninsula originally I wanted to find out more.

I found out that Dunboy Castle was one of the places where the O'Sullivans holed up back in the day so we went there. Then we decided we wanted to explore the whole peninsula as it was so beautiful. We discovered that Dursey Island off the tip of the peninsula was another place where the O'Sullivans lived back in the day. It was truly one of our favourite parts of Ireland. Another bonus is that it wasn't nearly as touristy as the next peninsula up - The Ring of Kerry.

Here are some photos of our trip around the Ring of Beara. There are quite a few....

The gatehouse to Dunboy Castle

Me examining the ruins of Dunboy Castle

The cable car to Dursey Island. Unfortunately we didn't have enough time spare to go check it out.

The water here was so clear!

My Garden

I thought I would start sharing some pictures from my garden every now and then. Here are some from this past summer.
